It may not have been one for the ages, but he got the job done.

It certainly wasn't a fight for the ages. In fact, I think that this fight will be quickly forgotten. But, the most important thing is that Anthony Joshua widely outpointed Joseph Parker to claim the WBO Heavyweight Title.

The judges returned scores of 118-110 twice and 119-109 in favour of the British champion. One thing we all have to remember before being overly critical of the performance is this sport is called boxing, and that is exactly what Joshua did. It was commanding performance from Joshua who to his credit stuck behind his jab well. He took the center of the ring for the vast majority of the fight. Parker looked as though he struggled with the spearing jab of Joshua and couldn't seem to work his way on the inside. Joshua said in his post-fight interview

"My strategy was to stick behind the jab and that secured me another world title belt. I thought it was hard, but going the twelve rounds was light work. I know the bookies say I might get a knockout but forget the hype, Parker was a world champion. This was a boxing match, not a fight. Parker said this would be war, I said this would be boxing finesse. Remember that I am the unified heavyweight champion of the world. That is 21 professional fights with six world title fights in it. Don't believe the hype about him. People who know me know I don't do that, so we will sit down, my team and Eddie Hearn and then they can talk to his time and Al Hamon, then we'll see.

"Just like Dillian said... Let's gooooo! "

At the end of the day. Anthony Joshua has claimed the WBO Heavyweight Title, he has gone 12 rounds, and for the first time, I can recall. He has actively called out the WBC Heavyweight champion ...
