Staffordshire Boxer Blitzes Undefeated Boxer In Two
Well sir, that's one way of announcing yourself to the British boxing public!
This writer is beaming with pride as Chasetown's favourite featherweight son, Luke Jones. Made a successful television debut. Stopping Muheeb Fazeldin, in just two short rounds. This victory, Jones' first by stoppage. Takes his record to 7-3-1.
Coming into this fight, Fazeldin was the far-favoured fighter. A stop-start career over eight years was still punctuated by an area title. Something which had evaded his opponent in Jones last fight out some ten months ago.
From the opening bell, Jones, the taller man of the two. Set upon Fazeldin. Keeping the distance short and brutalising his opponent on the inside. Such was the nature of the action. It didn't take the referee long to warn both men of foul play. Fazeldin's use of the forearm in particular.
The second picked up from the first stanza, with Jones refusing to concede and space as he hunted Fazeldin to head and body. The end coming quickly. A series of clubbing blows to the head leaving him out on his feet. Leaving the referee no choice but to save him from further punishment.
Where Jones goes from here .. will be fun to find out. Intuboxing appreciates the shout-out in the TV interview too!
