"He has released three different excuses" said Rogan, who's podcast recently moved to Spotify only, "The first one was the weight vest, the thing he was wearing. The crazy costume which weighed around 40 pounds apparently, that wore his legs out."
In a December 2018 interview, Deontay Wilder told Joe Rogan that he wears a 45 lbs vest during training sessions. ????pic.twitter.com/SHjEWZxOyf— Chamatkar Sandhu (@SandhuMMA) February 26, 2020
Wilder has received wide spread critisicsm for the now infamous 'suit excuse', having previously told Rogan on his own show he was training carrying extra weights so these things wouldn't be an issue.
Rogan continued "The next one was Fury's gloves...were not attached correctly, so his gloves were extended, so he was hitting him with knuckles. Not correct, not true, easily provable".
In a video after months of silence, Wilder specifically drew attention to this issue, going so far as to say Ricky Hatton was in on the act, adjusting Fury's gloves through the night, an allegation Hatton as angrily denied.
"The next one he said is egg weights. He said he had egg weights! This is recent...then there was an article that said he believes his water was poinsened and Mark Breland was part of that."
Deontay Wilder will continue to be a force in the heavyweight divison, and is now actively pursuing Fury in a rematch the Gypsy King has stated 'won't happen' after these insults and accusations, while also offering his support to the Bronze Bomber, a fighter he believed was now having mental health issues following the loss to Fury.
