Tyson Fury aired his thoughts on Deontay Wilder's latest theories about their fight back in February
WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury believes Deontay Wilder has "lost his marbles", after the American made a number of bizarre and seemingly unfounded accusations on social media.
Wilder had been largely silent for a number of months, save for a few Instagram posts of him on a motorcycle or scuba diving, but resurfaced on Halloween weekend to lay out his latest 'reasons' for why he suffered his first defeat at the hands of Fury back in February. Fury dominated the former undefeated champion, knocking him down three times en route to a seventh round stoppage.
And since stating he had "no excuses" in his very first interview in the ring after the fight, Wilder has been making them ever since. To this day(!) Wilder has claimed:
and most recently,
The 'Bronze Bomber' also lashed out at Fury and his 'co-conspirators' in an interview with Barbershop Conversations, stating that he's going to "get them", that they "better make the funeral arrangements" and that he's going to "spit on their tomb".
For the most part, the usually outspoken Fury has remained quiet in the face of Wilder's accusations, but he finally broke his silence with an interview with talkSPORT on their Fight Night podcast.
"I think he has lost his marbles", Fury said. "First of all, it was the suit, then it was the bicep injury, then his trainer was on our team, then the referee was against him, then I had weights in my gloves... Now someone has spiked his water. It's one of those things, isn't it?"
Fury also spoke about the potential third fight between the pair, which was on course for the end of this year before talks seemingly broke down, leaving Fury to settle for a fight with another heavyweight contender in December.
"The original date was July 18th", Fury said. "That didn't happen because he had an injury so it got put back three months to October, then that didn't happen because they were trying to get a venue.
"And then they had three dates in December - 5th, 12th and 19th - which I agreed to all of them and obviously that didn't happen. So, I'm not going to wait around forever."
