Watch highlights of Naoya Inoue's successful defence of his IBF and WBA bantamweight titles in a devastating seventh round stoppage of Australian challenger, Jason Moloney.
Japan's undefeated superstar boxer and pound-for-pound contender made his Las Vegas debut last night, aptly living up to his 'Monster' nickname on Halloween with yet another stoppage victory, his 17th in 20 victories.
The three weight world champion was impressive throughout, keeping a game Moloney at bay with calculated pressure, landing some impressive hooks and uppercuts while jumping in and out of range to make his opponent miss.
Inoue turned the screw further in the fifth round, rocking Moloney with a big right hand, and followed up with a knockdown in the sixth, courtesy of a savage left hook that sent Moloney reeling.
The fight would come to a halt at the end of the seventh, Inoue landing an almost impossibly powerful short right hand over Moloney's jab, sending him crashing to the canvas for the final time.
Inoue said: "The final punch, the finishing punch, I'm very happy and satisfied with that punch.
"Moloney has a great defence, and it was very difficult to get through. The two punches you mentioned are something we really practiced in Japan a lot, and I was able to perform well and use it, and I'm very happy with that."
