Former Cruiserweight world champion set to face Jones this year
Speaking with The Fight Buzz, former world Cruiserweight world champion says his upcoming bout with Roy Jones Jr is 'the stuff of dreams', but admitted it's all business when the two get in the ring.
Most recently in with Mike Tyson - an exhibition scored a draw, Jones is considered one of the greatest fighters of all time and took to Twitter to call out McCrory, who admitted he was somewhat surprised at the call.
"You're talking about the greatest of all time, the G-O-A-T!" said McCrory, who revealed he first heard of the callout on Christmas Eve. "He (Jones) may as well have been wearing a jolly red suit with a beard, I couldn't believe it! I'm training hard now with my son, who never got to see me perform the first time round, he's experiencing it now and he's keeping me motivated, I feel like I have a reason to live and something to be motivated for!"
In recent months, McCrory has been working with boxing promoter TUFF Promotions - hosting their inaugural event, which Roy Jones watched live, along with Mauricio Sulaiman, Tyson Fury and others.
"It's great working with TUFF, they're like a breath of fresh air!", said Glenn. "Simon (Whittle - owner) is so easy to work with, but so ambitious. Roy Jones is well in with them, he'll be looking after things in the States and I'll be working with the guys over here."
