2018 has been littered with good match-ups and why should this next fight be any different.

Garcia vs Porter will no doubt be a close action packed fight. Both fighters have shown the willingness to stand and trade when necessary along with moving and controlling distance.

The WBC ordered this fight after unified welterweight champion, Keith Thurman, suffered a second injury postponing his comeback fight. Thurman vacated his belt in April after winning it via split decision from Garcia in March of 2017.

Garcia, a former 3 time champion with a 33-1 record, is no stranger to big fights as he has wins over Khan....Peterson...Morales and Guerrero. Danny is a very solid fighter. While he has doesn't have 1 punch knockout power or blazing speed, he is a master at punching in between an opponent's combinations. His left hook is his main weapon of choice and he can detonate it at the drop of a hat.

Porter is as rugged as a pair of 5 year old construction boots. He is always a tough fight no matter who the opponent. An expert at smothering opponents and controlling distance. He is coming off 9th rd stoppage of Andre Berto and a unanimous decision win against Adrien Granados. His pressure and solid body punching has garnered him a very good resume at 147.

Conclusion- Porter stalks and pressures Garcia for most of the fight while Danny counters off the back foot when he isn't clinching for dear life. Garcia 7-5 in a controversial split decision.
