Heavyweight champion of the Commonwealth, Joe Joyce (4-0, 4KO) will now face Ivica Bacurin (29-13-1, 18KO) on Friday night at under the lights of London's famous York Hall in Bethnal Green.

It appears that Richard Lartey has pulled out last minute and that Bacurin will serve as a last-minute replacement. This bout will not be for Joyce's Commonwealth title.

Bacurin is no stranger to British boxing rings. having lost to Tony Bellew and Dillian Whyte in years gone by. Bacurin did last a total of sixteen rounds across both fights but has been knocked out by former Anthony Joshua foe, Carlos Takam in June of last year.

As stated in earlier articles Joe Joyce has big plans and is wasting little time in getting out as much as possible. Having claimed his first professional title in just his fourth fight Joyce has been linked with veteran heavyweights like Sam Sexton, David Allen, Dereck Chisora and most recently with Bryant Jennings and Jarrell 'Big Baby' Miller. Bacurin isn't exactly durable, so one can only expect another short nights work for the Rio Olympic Silver Medalist.

The card, promoted by Hayemaker Ringstar will also feature MMA star Michael 'Venom' Page (1-0) in his second professional bout, as well as Jumanne Camero (6-2), Sam Smith (8-1) & exciting young prospect Linus Udofia (8-0)
