CONFIRMED: DAZN to show World Boxing Super Series

World Boxing Super Series Gets US Broadcaster

By Aaron Cooper   - @intuboxingfm

One glaring omission from the first two tournaments of the World Boxing Super Series was a distinct lack of an American broadcaster.

Intuboxing has learned that that is all about to change. The Perform Group have acquired the rights for the entire second series of the tournament and it will air all three eight-man tournaments on the fledgeling streaming service, DAZN which will launch in the US in the not too distant future.

The tournaments are due to kick off in October with the draw for the series taking place in July, the same format as was used for the super-middleweight and cruiserweight tournaments. This year will see the bantamweight, super-lightweight and an unknown third weight class tournament.

We already know that names like Ryan Burnett, Naoya Inoue, Zolani Tete, Emmanuel Rodriguez and Regis Prograis will participate. With names like Josh Taylor, Kiryl Relikh and Eduard Troyanovsky all slated to take part.

Last years series saw but a few quarter-final bouts air on DirecTV'S Audience Network, but it had no outlet for the semi-final, and thus far there is no outlet for the final either.

It should be noted that DAZN's deal with the World Boxing Super Series is separate from the eight-year, £1 billion deal (only two years guaranteed) with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom.
