British Warriors: Fire And Fury - Saturday 14th April

Keep An Eye On The Action At York Hall. The Only Thing On These Fighters Minds Is Glory

Boxing in Britain is white hot, there is no denying this. Our tiny islands finest are filling up national stadiums, football grounds, and large indoor arenas across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. But, if I were to ask most of you where you watch your boxing, and I am being presumptuous. But I imagine you are all glued to Sky Sports or BoxNation whenever our great sport hits the big screen, and that's great. What some of you may not know is that there are a plethora of boxing promoters in the UK putting on quality boxing cards up and down the British Isles, and it's time we get behind them, wherever we can. After all, not all boxers follow the same path. Not every man or woman that enters the squared circle get things right the first time and many have found the sport later in life. But the next Anthony Joshua, Josh Taylor or Kell Brook could well be waiting in the wings ...

Ladies and gentleman, the sport of boxing needs you. Let us not forget that at its worst, boxing is an incredibly brutal sport. Not every fighter has the luxury of a lucrative sponsorship deal unless they are signed by a promoter with a big tv deal. But make no mistake about it, you can remove all the glitz and glamour of the big shows and the determination that beats in the heart of every boxer remains unchanged. Each combatant striving to reach their own personal glory, complacency is nowhere to be seen. This may or may not shock you. But the vast majority of professional boxers in Britain have day jobs. Often living double lives away from their family and friends in a quest for glory. As boxing fans, the least we can do is reward their hard work and dedication with our attention.

This coming Saturday in the hallowed boxing mecca that is york hall. British Warrior Promotions will bring you: FIRE AND FURY. Mo Prior and Greg Steene launched the promotion in 2011. Originally calling themselves Warrior Boxing Promotions, they changed the name to distinguish themselves from an American company of the same name, and two white-collar boxing outfits also ran in the UK. They are fully licensed by the BBBofC.

This Saturday they have put on an action-packed card for all those planning to attend. Rising middleweight prospect John Harding Jr boxes out of Miguel's gym in South London, he will be looking to add his name to the upper echelons of a stacked domestic division. Germaine Brown will make his professional debut on the card. But he is no stranger to hard work having sparred world champion, George Groves. Sam Smith will look to get back to winning ways and Daniel Darko will look to continue his ascent in the super-lightweight division.

The main event of the evening will see greek female boxing star Kallia Kourouni AKA Pink Tyson try and extend her six-fight win streak.

If you can make it to York Hall on Saturday night I implore you to check out your local boxing scene. If you cant is sure to keep an eye on the fighters on the card .. they are definitely ones to watch for the future.
