Brian Rose vs Anthony Fowler

Brian Rose one last crack at becoming world champion but first he must get through Anthony Fowler

By Martin Mullender   - @intuboxing

Brian Rose vs Anthony Fowler. 2nd August Brian Rose goes into battle against Anthony Fowler In one of England’s most well known boxing towns. Intu Boxing caught up with Dad of three Brian and here is what Brian had to say. Brian believes this fight may be a mistake for Anthony Fowler to take, as he believes if Fowler loses then he has nowhere to go. Whereas if Brian were to lose, then he has had his success; winning the lonsdale belt and getting to keep it outright, completing a childhood dream as it was something Brian always wanted to achieve since he was a boy. Brian went on to say that he believes he is levels above Fowler in experience and if this fight was to go on experience it is a complete mismatch. Brian has been in camp for the past 6 months, having one tick over fight during this time. Brian believes he his in the shape of his life. He has been out in the states the past few months with his trainer Bobby Rimmer (who he reunited with back in February) and sparring with the likes of the legendary Rampage Jackson who is a very popular name in the MMA business. Brian went on to say that he believes he‘s achieving things in training that are surprising him. He believes the older he is getting the better he is becoming. Brian admitted that the past few months have been hard and at times he admitted he had questions in is mind as to whether he will get this big fight. We all know the fight that was originally planned, a local derby with Fowler conqueror Scott Fitzgerald, was cancelled and then replaced with Anthony Fowler for the 6th July. That show then got cancelled and rearranged for 2nd August which is now a date that will definitely go ahead as long as there are no further injuries to Brian or Anthony. Brian went on to say that if he wins this fight he wont be looking to go for the Brittish title as he has already won that and an avenue he will be looking to go down is one last crack at becoming a world champion. Brian is hoping to write one last chapter in is illustrious boxing career. I for one cannot wait to see this fight and if you guys have read this post and think the same the place to be is the Exhibition Centre in Liverpool on the 2nd August at another one of Eddie Hearn’s excellent Next Gen shows.
