Age defying Pacquiao looks for biggest test in years
After months of speculation including names like Conor McGregor and Mikey Garcia, Manny Pacquiao is reportedly in discussions to fight welterweight champion Terence Crawford on June 5 in Abu Dhabi, according to The Athletic.
Top Rank has informed its network partner, ESPN, and pay-per-view distributor In Demand to hold June 5 for the potential fight it's exploring between Pacquiao and Crawford, sources said.
Last week, promoter Bob Arum stated Crawford was in talks for a fight that would be much bigger than anything he'd been linked with previously. Rumours of Thurman and Spence were rife, but Pacquiao now seems the most viable option.
According to the The Athletic, the structure of the deal is contingent on the fight taking place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates, sources said. There’s no agreement for the fight at this time.
