Sandor Martin defended his European title but the quality of refereeing throughout the night brought into question
Every year the Palau Olimpic Vall d'Hebron in Barcelona, hosts a night of professional boxing, and tonight was a sensational event courtesy of Matchroom Boxing and DAZN., and the main event the local main Sandor Martin defended his European Super Lightweight title, aginst Kay Prosper. Prosper is the current English Super Lightweight title holder and comes into this contest brimming of confidence. Martin is the more experienced fighter, but for the first time in his career Prospere will be fighting outside of the United Kingdom.
The fight when the full twelve rounds, but the champion Sandor Martin, controlled the contest all the way through and Prosper struggled to get to grips with his opponent, and tried to use the switch-hitting stance to confuse his opponent, but never happened. After some questionable refereeing and punishing Prosper of points, the judges score the contest 119-107 117-109 117-110 all in favour of the reigning champion Sandor Martin.
The fight of the night happened in the penultimate fight of the night between Kerman Lejarraga and Jez Smith, This fight had everything. Jez Smith landed two uppercuts which knocked down the more experienced Spaniard on two occaisions, once in the third and once in the fourth. Lejarraga then scored two knockdowns of his own, one in the sixth and one in the seventh. Shortly after the second knockdown, the referee steped in to finish the fight, in which many thought was very premature and the corner of Smith is furious, as he was hurt but also still punching back.

In the opening contest, televised, Bernard Angelo Torres fought Anuar Salas, in a scheduled eight round contest. During the first round Torres landed a straight left which made Salas hit the canvas. After composing himself, Salas was under pressure once again in the second round, and Torres landed another overhand left hand and was knocked diown again. The referee stopped the contest and Torres takes his record to 14-0
