Unified heavyweight champ ends speculation with new deal.
Any speculation over where Unified heavyweight champion of the World, Anthony Joshua's promotional future lies is over. Joshua, and promoter, Eddie Hearn have taken to social media today to announce that AJ has extended his deal with the British promoting powerhouse, in what Hearn has called a 'life-long' deal
Joshua, is in action on Saturday night in what can only be seen as his toughest test since Wladimir Klitschko. Taking on Ukranian mandatory challenger, and the first ever four-belt undisputed cruiserweight champion of the World, Oleksandr Usyk. The bout takes place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and can be seen live on Sky Sports. The fight would have been the last fight left on Joshua's current promotional deal.
Whilst this resolves his promotional future. Where fight-fans can see AJ ply his trade is still up in the air. Up until now, Joshua has of course traded hands live on Sky Sports, becoming the countries biggest pay-per-view attraction. Matchroom took the decision earlier in the year to move away from the broadcaster in favour of fledgling streaming service, DAZN.
The Matchroom/Joshua partnership has seen boxing in Britain explode. With the two selling out arenas, and breaking box office records time and time again.
Long may that continue...
